Fair Director’s Notes

Today we went sightseeing to the Santa Cruz mountains and Santa Cruz Beach except for Heather Leask and Jason Gandelman. Heather was scheduled for a interview with Megan Smith, Vice President, New Business Development, and General Manager, Google.org. Smith interviewed Heather for the new Google Special Award Category, “Secret Change Agent”. Heather has been selected as one of 10 finalists for the award. The winner will receive $10,000 and an opportunity to present her/his idea to Googlers at their Mountain View headquarters.

Jason Gandelman who is a Intel Science Talent Search Finalist attended a STS Luncheon.

Tuesday evening was a welcoming party at the Tech Museum. Really great iMax film on California!

Wednesday is judging with interviews starting at 8:30 am and running to 6:00 pm (with breaks and an hour and a half for lunch).
