All of the adults join me in saluting Amoolya, Ryan, Ryota, Shuhbro, Swathi, Toni and Yiyuan for a job well done. We know that their futures will burn bright.  And now it’s off to LAX for the flight home.

Friday – Newsletter

BOOM! The last day of the INTEL ISEF LA began with a failed attempt at an IHOP breakfast and then a brisk walk to the convention center for the grand awards. The ceremony was filled with people dancing and celebrating although all of us were suffering from a lack of sleep. This year, Connecticut did work! Ryan and Ryota received third place in animal sciences and energy and transportation respectively. Shuburo received second in chemistry. What a great day for Connecticut!

After the awards, all of us hastened to the exhibition hall to pack our projects and snarf down a quick subway lunch. We then went to the Griffith observatory in a limo while shotting our official INTEL ISEF music video. We saw an amazing planetarium show. LA was gorgeous from the observatory and the clouds were filled with motion and beauty.

We had dinner at the Wolfgang Puck Bar and Grill after another session of video shoots (hopefully all of you reading will be able to watch soon). We splurged and ate like kings (and Queens).

Thus ended the CT INTEL ISEF experience and an amazing week for the CT ISEF finalists!

On a personal note, ISEF has been an amazing experience that I will cherish for the rest of my life. The people that I met during the past few days were personable, interesting, intriguing, and “chill.” It has made me more rounded and realize that nothing is impossible. Bitter precedes sweet and work will always pay off.

To Ms. Frattalone, Mr. and Mrs. Wisner, Mr. and Mrs. Harris, and Ms. Beloin: Thank you for all of your patience and hard work. You all made this trip so enjoyable, memorable, and wonderful.
To Toni, Amoolya, Shuhburo, Ryota, Swathi, and Ryan: Thank you for a great week. I cannot wait until you all go out into the world and make your mark on the world as brilliant scientists, doctors, vets, businessmen/women, or anything that you set your mind to. The future is bright and beautiful for all of us and we can achieve anything that we set our mind to.

I’ll see you all starside. INTEL ISEF! 😀
