GENIUS Olympiad – CSEF Students Get High Honors

Three CT Science & Engineering Fair students competed in the 2013 GENIUS Olympiad, at the State University of New York, Oswego, June 20-22. These students were selected during category and special awards judging to represent our fair and state at this international competition.

Gold Medal in ScienceJanine Kerr, a rising junior at Danbury High School, for her research project Biological Control of The Emerald Ash Borer Using Entomopathogenic Fungus 

Silver Medal in Science – Julia Elstein, a now graduated senior at Bridgeport Regional Aquaculture Center for her research project  Reduction of Biodiesel Post Combustion Residue

National Grid Sustainability & Silver Medal Award – Connor Provost, a rising sophomore at Norwich Free Academy, for his research using body heat to run thermoelectric power generators.

Students- Summer is Science Project Season! 

It’s not too early start looking for topics in sustainability and energy efficiency.  You too might get to travel to one of the national and international competition that our winning projects compete in.
