Four young women award winners from the March 2018 Connecticut Science & Engineering Fair (CSEF) participated in the Women in Science, Saturday Science Program at the Connecticut Science Center on November 17.

• Alanna Brady – Fields Memorial School – Bozrah
• Khushi Parikh – Westside Middle School – Danbury
• Raina Jain – Greenwich High School – Greenwich
• Verna Yin – Greenwich High School – Greenwich

They presented and discussed their award winning research projects with a group of about 75 high school students from the Aetna Health Professions Partnership Initiative Doctors Academy which is one of the UCONN Health Career Opportunity Programs created to ensure a diverse applicant pool for their schools of Medicine, Dentistry and Graduate Studies. The students were organized into small groups and met with each project presenter during the course of the day.

The Connecticut Science Center’s Women in Science initiative encourages girls and young women to pursue studies and career paths in science, technology, engineering, and math (STEM) and celebrates the achievements of women in the sciences.

CSEF participation in Women in Science is coordinated by Doug King, CSEF Board Member and CSEF National Special Chair, Many thanks Doug and to the young women for taking the time to support this important program.
